The four-lane Tehran-Shomal Freeway, stretching 126 kilometers and connecting the metropolis of Tehran to the northern regions of Iran, is one of the most complex road construction projects in the country. This project, divided into four sections, includes 195 tunnels and 93 bridges, with a total combined length of 144 and 14 kilometers for both directions, respectively. The unique topographical, geological, and tectonic conditions of the Alborz mountain range have made the construction of various technical structures unavoidable.
