The Chal Fehreh

The two-level truss bridge, featuring an 81-metre span, a total weight of 230 tonnes, and a width of 5.5 metres, was designed and constructed to connect Lorestan Province with Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.

Owing to the area’s rugged topography, only 40 metres of assembly space—less than half the bridge’s total length—was available. During erection, counterweights and large industrial sandbags filled with sand were employed to stabilise each panel and prevent the structure from tipping into the river.
